Description
Made in New Zealand by Maori Boy, this design is acknowledgement of the Waka Huia. It was a treasure container for personal artifacts/possessions. Common possessions were Hei-Tiki (Pendants) and feathers for decorating the hair, such as the beautiful tail feathers of the Huia Bird. This design stylises the shape of the Waka Huia, which often took the form of a Waka with carvings at each end. This square plate design is no longer produced and this is the only one we have in stock, so it makes this piece even more special. 200 x 200mm. 80144063. Plate stand included.
